In 1992, just after graduating from high school Amanda Bossard started her education in marine biology with Alaska Pacific University, Anchorage in Alaska. Bossard's career began in 1999, when she took a job at the vessel F/V Sunset. This 65 foot halibut boat was turned into a tender for salmon by Murat Ariatn. He has been fishing commercially for more than twenty years. Bossard who is married to Aritan and has joined their forces in order to claim their respective industries. The two are proponents of conserving renewable and sustainable marine resources. Otolith launched its direct market wholesale distributor in Philadelphia after Bossard came back from her home at home with her daughters, Bella 3 years old and Andre one, to Philadelphia. She and her husband are separated by five months, and she is able to be focused on her financial goals and environmental concerns. Bossard's daughters Isabella, age 12, and son Andre 10 visit each year for a visit to Southeast Alaska to work in the deckhand role during wild salmon season. They use hooks and line to capture their salmon and then join Aritan to sell to local processors for 2 months. They then continue to expand their direct seafood product market through Otolith Sustainable Seafood. Amanda Bossard works as an Anchor/MMJ at News 12 Brooklyn and News 12 Bronx.
